Vital statistics per 1000 population, persons
In 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the birth rate decreased and the death rate increased in all regions. In the Lviv region, the birth rate is lower than in the voivodships, and the mortality rate is higher, and accordingly, the natural decrease is more significant. The natural decrease took place in all regions.
Migration statistics per 1000 population, persons
The migratory movement in 2021 was marked by an increase in the negative balance of migration in the voivodships (the number of those who left exceeded the number of those who arrived).
In Lviv region in 2021, in contrast to the 2010, the number of arriving people exceeded the number of those who left.
Average life expectancy at birth, years
The average life expectancy of men and women in Polish voivodships is higher than in Lviv region, in particular men - by 4–6 years, women - by 3–4 years.
Labour market
The unemployment rate in 2021 compared to 2010 decreased in Lubelskie Voivodship, in Lviv region unemployment rate remain higher than Voivodships.

In Lviv region, the population is majorly employed in trade and agriculture, in Podkarpackie Voivodship - in industry and trade, in Lubelskie Voivodship - in agriculture and industry.










Structure of total expenditure of households in 2021, %
More than half of household expenditures in Lviv region accounted for the purchase of food, more than a tenth - for housing. In the voivodships, less is spent on food - about a third of expenses -31 % in Podkarpackie Voivodship, and a fourth -26 % in Podkarpackie Voivodship, more - on housing, health care, education, recreation and culture, in 2.1-2.4 times more - on transport and communications.






Food consumption in household per capita in 2021 (Kg./Month)
Consumption of certain foods by the population in Lviv region exceeds the corresponding figures in voivodships. In particular, about three times more were consumed potatoes, 1.7-2.7 times more sugar and vagetable, 1.7 times more - eggs, 35-40% more bread and bread products. Meat and meat products were consumed at the level of neighbouring voivodships.
Construction and Housing


The commissioning of housing in 2021 compared to 2020 increased in Lviv region - by 19% and in voivodships by 6-9%.

In Lviv region, the level of equipment of flats of housing stock with gas exceeded the same indicator in Podkarpackie Voivodeship by 12 p.p., in Lubelskie Voivodship about by two times. The level of equipment of flats with water supply, sewerage, heating was lower than in the voivodships by 11-22 p.p.
Health care
The availability of physicians and hospital beds are higher, a paramedical personnel lower than in the neighbouring voivodships of Poland, in particular, the number of physicians per 10 thousand population is higher by 13-49%.
GVA structure by type of economic activity in 2021
In 2021, industry provided one-fifth of gross value added (GVA) in Lviv region and Lubelskie Voivodship, and about a third in Podkarpackie Voivodship. Agriculture also has a significant share in the Lviv region.
About two-thirds of GVA in Lviv region and Lubelskie Voivodship (60% in Podkarpackie Voivodship) are generated in trade and services.

Agriculture
In Lviv region, the share of cereals and legumes in the structure of sown areas is much smaller, compared to voivodships - about 44% and 72-74%, respectively. However, the share of sown areas of potatoes and vegetables, fodder and industrial crops is much higher than in voivodships.






Structure of agricultural output in 2021, (percent of total)
In the structure of agricultural output, the largest share in Lviv region was occupied by the production of potatoes, vegetables, fruits and berries, second and third places were occupied by cereals and legumes, as well as industrial crops.
In Podkarpackie and Lubelskie Voivodship - cereals and legumes, potatoes, vegetables, fruits and berries as well as agricultural animals.

Lviv region is a leader in the production of potatoes and vegetables per capita - potatoes were produced 3.4-3.7 times more than in the voivodships.
Lubelskie Voivodship is significantly ahead of neighbouring Lviv region and Podkarpackie Voivodship in the production of cereals, fruits and berries.

Lviv region produced by 23-72% more eggs per capita compared to neighboring voivodships.
Lubelskie Voivodship produced meat and milk by 1.7 and 2.3 times more than in the Lviv region, and 4.7 times more than in Podkarpackie Voivodship.

Economic activities



The growth rate of industrial production compared to 2010 in Lviv region is much lower compared to Podkarpackie and Lubelskie Voivodship.

Compared to 2010, volume of construction products increased in 2 times in Lviv region, and in voivodships by 48-52%.
Prices



The growth rate of consumer prices in Lviv region significantly exceeds the inflation rate in the voivodships. Compared to 2010, prices in Lviv region grew almost threefold, in neighboring regions of Poland - by 22-24%.
