Overview
- In 2020, according to the Department of Health of the Lviv Regional State Administration, there were 106 hospitals in the Lviv region with 17,9 thousand beds.
- The total number of physicians of all specialties (excluding dentists) was 13,2 thousand people, the number of paramedics was 21,7 thousand people.
- The coverage of the population with physicians decreased from 60 doctors per 10 thousand people in 2010 to 53 in 2020, the average number of medical personnel from 113 to 87, and the number of hospital beds from 98 to 72.
- At the end of 2020, 75,7 thousand people with malignant neoplasms, 781 people with active tuberculosis, and 3,9 thousand people with HIV/AIDS were registered in medical institutions.
