Overview

In 2021, according to the Department of Health of the Lviv Regional State Administration, there were 81 hospitals in the Lviv region with 16,9 thousand beds.
The total number of physicians of all specialties (excluding dentists) was 12,8 thousand people, the number of paramedics was 19,9 thousand people.
The coverage of the population with physicians decreased from 60 doctors per 10 thousand people in 2010 to 52 in 2021, the average number of medical personnel from 113 to 81, and the number of hospital beds from 98 to 69.
At the end of 2021, 79,0 thousand people with malignant neoplasms, 783 people with active tuberculosis, and 4,0 thousand people with HIV/AIDS were registered in medical institutions.
